Friendly Forces
ADOS Tears
Friendly Forces founder Eric Evans (known to live his life a quarter mile at a time) recently wrapped up an ADOS tour at the Pentagon where he saw first-hand the impact that high-quality individuals from the Reserve Components can bring to the fight.
Our team firmly believes more of this is needed and that the future of military service in this country will increasingly shift towards a hybrid model (barring WW3) versus the legacy full-time active duty or drill-status approach. We believe this would make both our military and industry stronger.
While he was sad to trade in his Army PowerPoint decks for civilian PowerPoint decks, Eric is confident that his contributions while on active duty will be remembered in Army lore for generations. He is excited to get back into more Friendly Forces work and to be able to check his cell phone during the day.

GigEagle: The Military Needs You for Gig Work
Have a unique skillset? Or any skillset? Looking to help a military unit that needs it? Check out GigEagle.
GigEagle is the DoD’s joint platform for agile talent across the total force. What that means is that active, Guard, and Reserve units can now find and tap into the full skills and experience (civilian and military) of service members across any component or service. Whether you need a software engineer or an electrician or a nurse, GigEagle unlocks the hidden talent and breaks down silos. Since launching in May 2024, the GigEagle platform has more than 15k users and has supported nearly 300 gigs ranging from 1 to 365 days.
Create an account, upload your resume, and get matched with gigs listed by military orgs that need your help. It’s pretty cool and taps into the civilian experience and talent we have in the Guard and Reserve.

The Fratty Guard
Call for Submissions: The Fall 2025 Special Operations Style Guide
What began as a joke has turned into possibly one of the most important national security initiatives we’ve ever undertaken.
Brought to you by @thefrattyguard and @operatorhair, we are looking for men and women that truly live the values of part-timing and special operations, and express it through their aura. We’re calling for submissions from the force for pipehitters who know how to operate in the gray zone and look good doing it.
We’re not looking for tacticool bullshit, but that confident civilian style X factor that just says “this girl/gal has a unique set of skills…”
Did you recently attend a black tie embassy party? Go spear fishing in Alaska? Rollerblade down the Venice beach boardwalk in hot pink spandex?
We want to see it. Submit your picture, name, and unit. Or just a picture and we’ll make the rest up. Eyes and faced can be redacted upon request.
We also encourage you to submit your unknowing friends. We’ll pick the best ones and release them in The Fratty Guard Inaugural 2025 SOF Style Guide in a few weeks time.
All submissions MUST be submitted via email to [email protected]
