So, lots happening. I think the last PTH Newsletter went out in December. We are trying to get back in to a weekly, or possibly bi-weekly, cadence.

Main things you need to know:

1) The Fratty Guard 2.0 Store relaunch is scheduled for this week. New site, new merch, same old badass living our life a quarter mile at a time mentality.

2) Friendly Forces 2.0 is also happening. That website is also getting some rebranding and a facelift. Soon it will become more powerful than you can possibly imagine. All the more reason to reach out and share your employer’s mil leave details with the team so they can be added.

3) Friendly Forces leader Eric Evans recently got the chance to speak at a recent National Guard and Reserve Career Summit. Lots of great, ongoing conversations came out of that engagement that the Friendly Forces team is following up on. Momentum for the cause is building.

I Want the Last 90 Minutes of My life Back

Last week a couple members of the team listened in on an online event from yet another organization that is looking to capitalize on transitioning veterans. Nothing wrong with that, but please add some actual value. Maybe it was because I was answering emails and on other calls simultaneously, but they literally said nothing and offered no solutions to anything. All I learned is that veterans are great and the new term that companies should care about is being a “military thriving” culture. Also, like two quick mentions of Guard/Reserve the whole time. That’s it. It was like a two hour online engagement.

Meanwhile, the corporate recruiters in the chat were all 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 stunning and brave 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏.

Every time we see these things, we remember why we keep doing the work Friendly Forces does. We cut through the bullshit and hold companies accountable. We help part-time servicemembers find companies that enable their service and we help companies implement policies and cultures that help gasp people IN the military. This helps service members AND employers.
